Have you heard the term Pineapple Express
or how about Atmospheric River
? Well, these are key terms in any mountain town but especially here in Crested Butte. When there is an atomospheric river coming from Hawaii (land of the pineapples) to California it means the Pineapple Express comes to Crested Butte which equals HUGE amounts of snowfall! Crested Butte has benefited immensely from these storms with 25″ in the last 7 days and a whole lot more in the forecast
starting tomorrow night. So far, this ski season we have received 136″ of snow, well ahead of the average for this time of year.
Speaking of skiing, did you know there is a ski area in Gunnison? Cranor Hill Ski Area has been managed by the City of Gunnison since 1966. Cranor ski hill has a single poma lift and 4 runs that vary in difficulty. It doesn’t always get enough snow to open but this year is an exception!
I am excited to let you know about a new business! Harmels on the Taylor has just opened Buck’s on the Taylor Coffee Shop! If you’re headed up Taylor Canyon for ice fishing, snowmobiling or snowshoeing this winter, make sure you stop by to warm up with a hot cup of Joe! They are open 7am-4pm Tuesday-Saturday.
13 days into 2023 and we are already experiencing a different market from last year. Across the market, there is a large uptick in buyer activity and I witnessed two multiple offer situations this week on properties. This isn’t just local, I am seeing updates from my amazing global real estate network with the same news in their markets. The spring buying season may be off to an early start! Don’t miss the Market Update video at the top!
Have a great three-day weekend!
