Arts, Culture and National TV! | An Update from Crested Butte

Arts and culture is one of the best parts about Crested Butte in many ways, we have so much talent here locally but then we also get the opportunity for big events like the music festival and the art festival. This year they are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Crested Butte Arts Festival and today is opening day! It is a really great scene and wonderful artists from around the country. Make sure to take the time and check it out this weekend if you’re in town!

If you haven’t heard yet, Crested Butte was featured on CBS Sunday morning last weekend and they highlighted our amazing wildflowers, the Rocky Mountain Biological Lab and a local artist, Nicholas Reti. Check out the full segment at the bottom of this email!

The July market proved to be consistent with years past and we saw a steady increase in buyer activity overall. However, August is off to a very hot start with26 properties going under contract with over $19 million in total volume in 5 days!! I attribute this to the fact the interest rates dropped below 5% for the first time since May and a lot of sellers have reduced their asking prices and just the normal flow of our market trends. If you look at the graph below with the Annual Sales Volume, we are caught up to 2019 by the beginning of August so I expect we will get pretty close to 2020 total sales volume if this August pace continues. I think the biggest thing to note is that the average sales price continues to climb, check out the chart below!

Have a wonderful weekend and I hope to see you at the Art Fair!
