Spring Time, Mountain Style | An Update From Crested Butte

Check Out My Latest Video: Tour Prospect Subdivision | Crested Butte Real Estate

Spring is definitely in the air in Crested Butte but it is still cold air! The temperatures have been in the teens in the mornings and mid-30’s in the afternoons. It is good for the snowpack but bad for anyone that is hoping to have more spring like weather (me!!). This weekend is shaping up to be warm (high of 59!!) and sunny and the skiing should be so fun! Each year, we are reminded that while it is spring officially, we won’t see green grass and flowers until at least the end of May but a lot depends on the weather in April. If we get a lot more snow, which is typical, we may be into June before the trails open. Or if April and May are unseasonably warm, it will be sooner. There is still 8 feet of snow in my backyard but I am dreaming of summer. What are you looking forward to the most this summer?

Before we get too excited for summer, let’s talk about all of the fun events happening this last week of the ski season! Could this be the biggest party week of the year? Here is a list of my top picks:

Tonight! Disco Inferno – Fundraiser for KBUT Radio
March 26th:
CB Nordic and Eddyline Brewing Beerski World Championships
Skitown Breakdown Concert at Paradise Warming House
March 31st:
Deadhead Ed’s 60th Birthday/End of Season Party
April 2nd:
Pond Skim at the Base of the Red Lady Lift
Skitown Breakdown Concert at Butte 66 with DJ LLL (she DJed my wedding!)
April 3rd:
Closing Day 🙁
The Last Steep’s Last Day with the current ownership (new owners are keeping things the same but closing for April to get the new POS system installed)
Brick Oven Pizzeria and Pub Closing Weekend

Whatever you get in to, make the most of it! It will be a beautiful final week of the 2021/2022 Crested Butte Ski Season!
